COUNTY FIRE PREVENTION ASSOCIATION MEETINGS

DIVISION UPDATES – April 2010

• The ICC National Certification Examination and FEE 66 Fire Inspector I Based on 2006 International Code testing will be held at the Camden County Emergency Training Center Auditorium, 420 Woodbury-Turnersville Road, Blackwood, New Jersey 08021. Site Code: 5170. Exam date deadline to register is April 2, 2010 and the test date is May 1, 2010, 8:00 a.m. For more information go to: http://www.iccsafe.org/Accreditation/Pages/safetyprofexams.aspx This test is a prerequisite to receive certification as a new NJ fire inspector. Additional test dates will be announced in the very near future.

• The next County Fire Prevention Association Presidents meeting will be held on May 7, 2010, 10 a.m. at the Middlesex County Fire Academy.

• The NJ Fire Safety Commission moved a resolution at their January 27, 2010 meeting to the Governor and the Lieutenant Governor that:

(1) the Governor and Lieutenant Governor are requested to move the Proposal that will require the installation of residential fire sprinklers in one an two –family dwellings – 41 N.J.R. 4369(a) – from Schedule A to Schedule B in Executive Order 1, in consideration of the health and safety aspects of the Proposal, and

(2) the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General, and Commissioner of the Department of Community Affairs are requested to allow the currently proposed regulatory amendment to the New Jersey Building Code to be adopted as it was proposed.
