These are the minutes of the August Morris County Fire Prevention Association Meeting taken by Jim Henderson in my absence.  The State Report and an appeal from NJFP&PA Vice-president Bob Davidson have been sent as separate related emails. The next meeting will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday September 2nd.


 

Morris County Fire Prev. Assn. Meeting  August 5, 2009

 

Members present:  Ramond Stromberg, Philip Wilk, Robert G. Schmitt, Herb H. Eggers Jr, James S. Miller, Robert Rush, Pete Schroeder, Michael A. Pellek, James E. Henderson, Dennis Lonagan, James Reynolds, Paul Elenio.

 

Meeting called to order by President Pellek at 1930.

Flag salute and moment of silence.

President thanked every one for coming out.

Golf outing: no hole sponsors, should be on our web site, still taking golfers applications.

Posters are done and in Springfield. They will be picked up by County ( Dennis & Philip ).

Treasurer Reynolds Report was read and approved by Motion: Pete Schroeder, Second J. Miller

 

Reports:

State Fire Prevention & Protection Association, Rich Silva northern VP says to

go to NJ_FIRE_MARSHALS@ Yahoogroup.com web site for code questions discussions.

NJFP&PA meeting will be at the Middlesex County Academy 8-6-09.

Mr. Killmore says you can't go on private property for problems, but code says you can. This will be discussed. (see separate email from Bob Davidson)

 

Division of Fire & Safety Paul Elenio, If fire marshals go on vacation leave some one in charge and notify fire chief.  Rest was read from division updates - August 2009. (Division Report sent separately)

 

Code advisory Nov 6&7 Baltimore. Maryland. They will push for 1 & 2 family home sprinklers code, to get this passed in 2010 and implemented it in 2012.

 

Association committee:

Safety town architect working on it, out in field, working with Vinnie. Kinnelon got it worked out fixing legal loophole (relating to fire safety trailer).

 

Bylaws Dennis: Done

 

Old Business: none

New Business: Nothing at 4-H fair

Rich Hiembeck in hospital again.
