MAY 2006 - MEETING MINUTES

 Meeting called to order by VP Wilk at 10:05 hrs

Treasure Report: Starting Bal in Check Book as of 4/30/06                                                          $4,286.97

Div. of Fire Safety Report:

Paul Reported that Paul Allen is now the bureau Chief, We should keep copies of all reg. sent to the Div. for our own records.  Victory Gardens asked Paul if the Div would be able to assist him as the town has not paid him for his hrs worked. Paul said one thing he can do is stop doing inspections, Paul will speak to Paul Allen.

It is reported that each LEA will start doing collecting the registration fees not paid. The PACE unit is no longer going to be doing collections.  When you send in the fees the Div will up date the report. Also local LEA’s will get a quarterly report on LHU fees.

 

Sec. Report:

 Spoke about getting the new up dated info on membership applications and what ever applications we receive will be the membership list of active people.

 

State Fire Prevention:

Rich said meeting was today or tomorrow working on resolution on elections.  Tri county meeting June 1st (Essex , Monmouth, Huudson)

May 8th will be judging posters in Union Co.  Party in early June for winners.  Dues need to be paid; will bring up under new business.

 

County Fire Marshall:

Phil reported they are very busy, that he is still working and looks like County is not going to g private at this time. Also reminded of the 4 – H fair

 

Fire Academy:  N/R

 

Public Ed. :

ON May 16th in Bayonne will be the presentation on the new program they have been working on   Rich said Lincoln Park is working on a project with creation safety, if interested contact Rich.

 

Master Planning:

Rich said they are trying to get some new members and Phil should be put in soon. Spoke about a poss. Building a 2nd firemen’s home.  They are looking into making it mandatory to do NIFRS. Spoke about payment to Jr. FF’s if killed in line of duty, will come up on floor in wildwood. Taking about poss. Stand by fees and shared services.

 

Code Advisory:

Phil said no meeting posponed to June 21st.  again 4 – H fair last week in July( 29th 30th). Need help!!!. He is looking for any dept. to donate materials to hand out at the fair.           

 

Safety Town:

Vinny said Count is dragging on getting the key to them. PD is working on traffic flow thru the area. Working on funding, they may have a chopper raffle. Need help June 3rd 1 to 3 pm at Rockaway Mall to hand out information.  Rich asked if they contacted New Jersey Nat’l gas for support, Vinny said not as of this date.

 

Poster Contest:  Will have party and hand out certificates to winners at next meting

Code Proposals:

Tom reported not to much on UFC. Monday was final on the tent proposal, Spoke about mazes and permits

 

Golf Outing :

Still need hole sponsors

 

New Buss.: M/M to give Phil same amount of money as last year for the 4- H fair materials needed, 2nd and passed.  M/M for $100.00 for golf outing, 2nd and passed.  M/M to pay for the state diner that Phil and Rich attended. Total was $150.00. 2nd and passed.

 

Good & Welfare:   Jeff Betz is doing well, also Dover said they had an audit.
